CAN: Clay Action Network

CAN, the Clay Action Network, is a new organization that has been developed in Clay County, Florida to promote democratic values throughout our communtiy. We have risen in opposition to the corrupt politics that the "good ole boys" have brought to the Sunshine State and I am asking for anyone who lives in Clay, or one of the surrounding counties, to please come and volunteer your time to help turn this state around.
We are currently petitioning for fair wages for firefighters and actively supporting Katja Palmer as a candidate for County Commissioner for District two. She is the first Democrat to run for the position in fifteen years and she actually has a shot at winning.
Our website is http://www.clayactionnetwork.com/ if you are interested in helping out at the local level. We meet the first Thursday of every month at the Flemming Island library. Any additional information can be found at the website. We are always looking for donations and any money that you guys can spare would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't it pled?

Ever since the Abramoff story broke with the MSM I have heard every major newscater in America say that Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty. I have look through several dictionaries and have been unable to locate the word pleaded. My usual instinct is just to assume that the reporters on CNN and FOX are just inept but when I started hearing such trusted sources as C-SPAN and NPR repeating the same phrase "pleaded guilty" I began to lose trust my better judgement. If there is anyone out there in the blogosphere who can help provide me with the correct answer?  It would finally put an end to this madness that has taken hold of me. Is it pleaded or pled?
